This morning started with a surprise; I saw a word "1.57 shock". This word represents a shock Japanese people had in 1990 by the total fertility rate dropped to 1.57 in 1989, which was the lowest in history.

I shocked by this word. I had thought that "they were shocked when the rate marked below 2.0, which was in 1961", or, from the graph of TFR, "they were shocked in mid-70s when the TFR continually marked below 2.0."

But, actually, they did not concern TFR, or Japan's shrink, for at least 15 years. It seems to me that this 15 years' loss results in the current critical situation. People birth in late-70s to 80s are now at the age of 25-40, resulting in the lowest birth of 1,000,000. Now Japan is fixed on the track of shrinking. This seems to be an example of boiling frogs.

This is a proof of impotence of Japanese administration; we should be careful about facts, and do effective acts by ourselves instead of them to protect ourselves.
